Notes: Another Christmas story... I had a mistletoe obsession this year and wrote a few stories involving mistletoe (I know it's cliched) across my fandoms. It is a bit late, because I only write at work, and we have been busy lately. I started it before Christmas, but have only just finished it. This is my first ever Mutant X story. My muse wrote something different to what I had planned... It was supposed to be an established relationship story, but it became a first time one!
Summary: Brennan goes to give Jesse a Christmas present.

Brennan made his way to Jesse's room. It was Christmas Eve, and he had a present for his friend. He was nervous, as he didn't know how Jesse would react to his present. Lately, Brennan had gotten the impression that Jesse was interested in more than friendship, but he wasn't sure that he was reading it correctly. If he was mistaken, this might ruin their friendship. He just hoped he was right.
Jesse answered the door and Brennan couldn't help staring. He was wearing loose sweatpants, with no shirt, and was towelling dry his hair. It was obvious he had just come from the shower and a trickle of water ran down the smoothly muscled chest. Brennan had to stop himself from licking the drop away... it was almost too tempting.
"Hi... I just came around with your present." Brennan was surprised that his voice sounded so normal when inside he was melting.
"Come on in... You might want to walk around the edge of the room though."
"Why?" Brennan was puzzled.
"Because..." Jesse trailed off and pointed to the roof. When Brennan looked where Jesse was pointing, he saw a small bunch of mistletoe hanging in the center of his room.
"Why do you have mistletoe in here?"
Jesse just shrugged in answer.
Brennan couldn't make up his mind which way to walk... Should he walk around, or should he take a chance and stand under the mistletoe? He had to decide quickly as Jesse was starting to look at him funny. //The hell with it... at least I'll know!//
Brennan entered the room and walked straight to the middle. He stopped directly under the mistletoe and just looked at Jesse. He could see the shock on his friend's face, but there was something else there that gave him hope.
"Is this a joke Brennan?" Jesse asked quietly. He was looking at the floor and avoiding Brennan's eyes.
"No joke Jesse," Brennan assured him, while inside he was scared shitless. Slowly, Jesse looked up at Brennan. They stared into each other's eyes for a few moments before Jesse smiled and stepped towards him. They were now standing so close that Brennan could feel the heat radiating from Jesse's body. Their eyes were locked together as they leant towards each other. At the first touch of their lips, their eyes closed. The kiss started off slowly and gently until Brennan asked for entry and Jesse let him in. As soon as their tongues met, the kiss became fiercer. They both groaned and moved closer together. Their hands were added to the mix, and Brennan couldn't get enough of the smooth skin stretched over firm muscles.
Oxygen became essential and they reluctantly broke apart. Their arms remained locked around each other as they got their breath back. They were enjoying the closeness, especially as they already knew each other so well and didn't have to pretend or try so hard.
"I have wanted to do that for so long," admitted Brennan.
"Same here... ever since you first joined us here."
"I thought you didn't like me at first."
"The problem was that I liked you too much... instant lust!"
"You do know that this is more than just lust?"
"Yeah I know..."
They kissed again gently, almost as if they were sealing a vow.
"I have something for you that I didn't really want to give you in front of the others... it's too personal," Brennan said. He reluctantly took one arm off Jesse in order to retrieve the gift from his pocket. As soon as he handed the gift to Jesse, he replaced his arm in its original position.
"It's difficult to unwrap it when you are holding me like this."
"Tough... I'm not letting go just yet... and don't even think about using your power to escape," Brennan joked.
"I don't want to escape, I just need you to loosen your hold a little."
Brennan did so and Jesse was able to get both hands in front so he could unwrap the present. He ripped open the wrapping to find a small jewellery box. When he opened the box he gasped. Inside the box was a beautiful gold charm with a Rune carved on it. Attached to the charm was a strong chain.
"The Rune is for protection, and there is a message on the back," Brennan explained.
Jesse turned the charm over and saw "Love always B."
"This is so beautiful... Will you help me put it on?"
Brennan placed the chain around Jesse's neck. It was a perfect fit.
"Thank you, I love it... and I love you," Jesse said before kissing Brennan again. "I don't have anything special for you... just something for when we all exchange presents at our "family" dinner." Jesse admitted.
"But you do... even if it is only half wrapped," Brennan replied flippantly.
"What?" Jesse looked puzzled for moment before he realised what Brennan meant. It became very obvious that Jesse was aroused at the thought... and that was more than Brennan's control could take. He suddenly pushed the smaller man back towards the bed. They were kissing again, but this time it was fierce and uncontrolled. Hands desperately clawed at clothing until they were both naked. They tumbled onto the bed, arms and legs tangled, and mouths still fused. Both men were very aroused and the first time wasn't going to last long.
Brennan started kissing his way down Jesse's body. He wanted to taste his present! He licked and nipped at the sensitive nipples until Jesse was writhing, and then he moved further down. "You know, you really are the ultimate Christmas present," Brennan stated causing Jesse to laugh.
"Yeah... ditto..." Jesse said between giggles.
They kissed again.
It seemed that they would have a very merry Christmas and an ecstatic New Year.
